"It should be obvious that any government that claims to be of the people and for the people must also serve the people. Yet it is clear that the current government does not serve the people-it exploits them. It is a government of the wealthy; a corporate, fascist government of the highest order. It is a government that spurns ordinary people and uses its power against them"

The chaos begins November 14th, 2008

The day started out as usual. We were all on a routine. my daughter worked at the mall close by, a mere ten minute walk from home. I worked in a mall in the next town. We mostly worked the same schedule. We were both home by 9:30 pm. I usually took the bus home, however this particular day my wonderful boss insisted that she and her daughter take me home. By 9:15pm I was being dropped off. And I was thinking to myself at that instant; "What a beautiful cool fall night, maybe I should walk to meet up with my daughter." That will be one of the decisions that I will regret not doing for the rest of my life. I decided I would get into the house and catch up on emails as my daughter usually gets on the pc as she comes home. I figured I had a few moments before she arrived.
9:30 pm and she has not shown up. "Maybe she stopped at second Cup?"
I continued to wait. Another fifteen minutes had passed and I start getting butterflies in my stomach, and not the good kind. I told myself I would wait a few more minutes and would go upstairs and call her on her cell. As a few minutes pass I get up off my chair and start going up the stairs as the phone rang. "Ahhhh she's calling." As I picked up the phone, it was not my daughter. It was a man asking if I was the mother of the accident victim they had. He identifies himself and tell me that my daughter was in a car accident. I'm thinking; "Car accident??? She doesn't drive." I could not for the life of me wrap around my brain what was going on at that instant. It just did not make sense. Then he informs me that she was a pedestrian. That she was alive however; she had lost consciousness and could not walk and that they took her to a local hospital. I thought I was going to pass out.  He asked if I would like for him to pick me up to take me to her. I said yes since I did not know where the hospital was in that town. While I waited for him to pick me up, I called my better half at work and told him what had just happened and told him to meet me at the hospital. I then called my wonderful boss and told her that I would not be going to work the next day. I told her what hospital they had taken her, and she assured me that my daughter was in good hands, that it was a teaching hospital, that people from all over the world come to study at this hospital. At the time it was a huge comfort.

She suffered mild head trauma, (left knee) acute total knee dislocation (3 ligaments torn and replaced, one reconstructed), her pelvis was broken in two places and her sacrum broke in half.

I am not going to do a play by play of each day since it is only a repetition of events for 32 days.
